Connect Xero to Raysly
Connect Xero to Raysly so the deposit invoice and payment of an order are posted to your Xero organisation. Owners and admins connect it from Integrations.

Connect your Xero organisation to Raysly and post the invoice and the payment of an order straight into Xero. Xero stays your accounting system: Raysly creates customers, invoices and payments there.
Before you start
- You need a Raysly account. If you do not have one yet, create a Raysly account first.
- Sign in to Raysly as the account owner or an admin. Only owners and admins can connect or disconnect an integration.
- Have a Xero login that is allowed to authorise an app for your organisation.
- Know which Xero organisation Raysly should post to. Raysly uses the first organisation Xero returns, so authorise only that one.
Connect
- Open the Xero tile. In Raysly open Settings → Integrations. Find the Xero tile with the search box or the Accounting filter, and click Connect on the tile. A details panel opens. Click Connect in the panel to go to Xero.
- Approve Raysly in Xero. Sign in to Xero, choose your organisation and approve. Raysly asks Xero for permission to create invoices, to read and write customer contacts, and to read your accounts and tax rates. It also asks to stay connected so it can keep posting without asking you again.
- Check the connection. Raysly brings you back to Integrations and shows a green confirmation banner. The tile now says Connected, and the details panel shows which account it is connected as. The card shows the name of your Xero organisation. Raysly also tries to read your chart of accounts and tax rates and sets default account mappings; if that step fails, the connection still works.
- Record the deposit on an order. Open an order under Orders. When you click Mark deposit received (cash) or Mark bank transfer received, Raysly tries to post the deposit invoice and its payment to Xero right away.
- Check the result. The order shows Synced to Xero with the date. If the first attempt did not finish, the order shows Sync to accounting; click it to post again. If it shows an error, the button reads Retry accounting sync.
What Raysly reads and writes
- Reads: the name of your organisation, your chart of accounts and your tax rates.
- Writes: customers (contacts), sales invoices and payments for the order deposits you record.
- Raysly does not change your chart of accounts or your Xero settings.
Orders Raysly does not post
An order that mirrors a sale made in a shop you connected to Raysly is booked by that shop, so Raysly does not post it to Xero.
If you receive orders from Swiss customers, the Xero card in Settings → Integrations shows a notice about sending their data abroad. Those orders wait until an owner or admin confirms the notice. Nothing is sent before then.
Disconnect
In Settings → Integrations open the Xero tile and click Disconnect, then confirm. Raysly marks the connection as revoked and stops using it. Raysly stops posting to Xero. Invoices and payments already in Xero stay there; Raysly does not delete them.
Raysly's authorisation can stay listed at Xero after you disconnect. To remove it there as well, remove the Raysly app from your Xero organisation's connected apps.
Frequently asked questions
Which Xero organisation does Raysly use?
The first organisation Xero returns when you approve the connection. If you authorise more than one organisation, disconnect and connect again, and authorise only the one Raysly should post to.
Does Raysly post every order automatically?
Raysly posts when you record a deposit with Mark deposit received (cash) or Mark bank transfer received, and when you click Sync to accounting on the order. The order screen posts the deposit invoice and its payment.
Does Raysly file taxes for me?
No. Raysly only creates invoices, customers and payments in Xero. Your Xero organisation stays the place where your accounts and tax filings are handled.
Who can connect or disconnect?
Only the account owner and admins. Other team members can use what is connected but cannot change it.
The connection to Xero did not finish. What now?
Raysly shows a red notice at the top of Integrations that starts with "We couldn't complete the connection" and gives a short reason. Click Dismiss and click Connect again. Nothing is connected until you approve the request at Xero. Still stuck? Email support@raysly.com and tell us the platform, what you clicked and what you saw.
