Connect Google Drive to Raysly
Connect Google Drive to Raysly from Integrations: approve file-restricted access and Raysly creates a Raysly folder in My Drive. What the connection does today.
Last updated
Connect Google Drive to Raysly from Integrations. Raysly links your Google account and creates a folder named Raysly in My Drive.
This guide says exactly what the connection does today. Documents you upload in Raysly are still stored by Raysly; the Drive connection does not move or copy them into your Drive.
Before you start
- You need a Raysly account. If you do not have one yet, create a Raysly account first.
- Sign in to Raysly as the account owner or an admin. Only owners and admins can connect or disconnect an integration.
- Have the Google account (for example your Google Workspace account) that should hold the Raysly folder.
Connect
- Open the Google Drive tile. In Raysly open Settings → Integrations. Find the Google Drive tile with the search box or the File storage filter, and click Connect on the tile. A details panel opens. Click Connect in the panel to go to Google.
- Approve Raysly in Google. Sign in with the Google account to use and approve. Raysly asks Google for access to the files it creates in Drive, not to your whole Drive. It also reads your name and email so the card can show which account is connected.
- Check the connection. Raysly brings you back to Integrations and shows a green confirmation banner. The tile now says Connected, and the details panel shows which account it is connected as. Raysly creates a folder named Raysly at the top of My Drive. If the folder could not be created, the connection still works.
- Know what the connection does. The tile shows Google Drive as connected and the Raysly folder is ready in your Drive. Documents you upload in Raysly stay in Raysly storage.
Region note
Confirm that your Google Workspace data region matches the region you operate in.
Disconnect
In Settings → Integrations open the Google Drive tile and click Disconnect, then confirm. Raysly marks the connection as revoked and stops using it. Files and the Raysly folder already in your Drive are not deleted.
Raysly's authorisation can stay listed at Google Drive after you disconnect. To remove it there as well, remove Raysly under third-party access in your Google account.
Frequently asked questions
Will Raysly see all my Drive files?
No. Raysly asks Google for access to the files it creates, not to your whole Drive.
Can I rename or move the Raysly folder?
Yes. Raysly keeps the identity of the folder it created, not its name or position.
Will my documents be saved to Google Drive?
No. Documents you upload in Raysly stay in Raysly storage. The connection links your Google account and creates the Raysly folder.
Who can connect or disconnect?
Only the account owner and admins. Other team members can use what is connected but cannot change it.
The connection to Google did not finish. What now?
Raysly shows a red notice at the top of Integrations that starts with "We couldn't complete the connection" and gives a short reason. Click Dismiss and click Connect again. Nothing is connected until you approve the request at Google. Still stuck? Email support@raysly.com and tell us the platform, what you clicked and what you saw.
