Connect OneDrive to Raysly

Connect Microsoft OneDrive to Raysly from Integrations: sign in with Microsoft and Raysly creates a Raysly folder. What the beta connection does today.

Last updated

Connect Microsoft OneDrive to Raysly from Integrations. Raysly links your Microsoft account and creates a folder named Raysly in your OneDrive. The OneDrive connection is in beta.

This guide says exactly what the connection does today. Documents you upload in Raysly are still stored by Raysly; the OneDrive connection does not move or copy them into your OneDrive.

Connect OneDrive to Raysly in four steps: open the OneDrive tile, sign in at Microsoft and approve, check the connection and the Raysly folder, know what the connection does.

Before you start

  • You need a Raysly account. If you do not have one yet, create a Raysly account first.
  • Sign in to Raysly as the account owner or an admin. Only owners and admins can connect or disconnect an integration.
  • Have the Microsoft account whose OneDrive should hold the Raysly folder.

Connect

  1. Open the Microsoft OneDrive / SharePoint tile. In Raysly open Settings → Integrations. Find the Microsoft OneDrive / SharePoint tile with the search box or the File storage filter, and click Connect on the tile. A details panel opens. Click Connect in the panel to go to Microsoft.
  2. Sign in at Microsoft and approve. Sign in with your Microsoft account and approve. Raysly asks Microsoft for permission to read and write files, to read your basic profile, and to stay connected without asking again.
  3. Check the connection. Raysly brings you back to Integrations and shows a green confirmation banner. The tile now says Connected, and the details panel shows which account it is connected as. Raysly creates a folder named Raysly in your OneDrive, or reuses it if it already exists. If the folder could not be created, the connection still works.
  4. Know what the connection does. The tile shows OneDrive as connected and the Raysly folder is ready. Documents you upload in Raysly stay in Raysly storage.

Region note

Microsoft hosts your data in your own tenant region. Check the region with your Microsoft administrator.

Disconnect

In Settings → Integrations open the Microsoft tile and click Disconnect, then confirm. Raysly marks the connection as revoked and stops using it. Files and the Raysly folder already in your OneDrive are not deleted.

Raysly's authorisation can stay listed at Microsoft after you disconnect. To remove it there as well, remove Raysly from the apps you have given access to in your Microsoft account.

Frequently asked questions

Will my documents be saved to OneDrive?

No. Documents you upload in Raysly stay in Raysly storage. The connection links your Microsoft account and creates the Raysly folder.

The connection stopped working after a long break. Why?

Microsoft can end an authorisation after a long period without use. If the tile asks you to reconnect, click it and approve again.

Who can connect or disconnect?

Only the account owner and admins. Other team members can use what is connected but cannot change it.

The connection to Microsoft did not finish. What now?

Raysly shows a red notice at the top of Integrations that starts with "We couldn't complete the connection" and gives a short reason. Click Dismiss and click Connect again. Nothing is connected until you approve the request at Microsoft. Still stuck? Email support@raysly.com and tell us the platform, what you clicked and what you saw.
