Using Raysly with PrestaShop

How to use the Raysly module in PrestaShop: where the offer form appears, the Get instant offer page and menu link, opt-in checkout leads, product sync and removal.

Last updated

This guide is for installers who have installed the Raysly module. If you have not, start with Install Raysly on PrestaShop.

The "Get instant offer" form gives your visitors a tailored solar offer in minutes, and every enquiry lands in your Raysly lead pipeline, ready to follow up.

This connector is in beta. Raysly keeps issuing offers and invoices as it does today; invoicing pass-through stays off while the connector is in beta.

Diagram of what you can do once PrestaShop is connected to Raysly: dashboard, offers, leads and the website widget.

Where the offer form appears

  • On the product page, below the product (a setting).
  • On the order confirmation page (a setting).
  • On a dedicated "Get instant offer" page at /get-instant-offer (on by default). With friendly URLs off the address is index.php?fc=module&module=raysly&controller=offer; the Raysly screen shows the address.
  • The form shows no prices, grants or tariffs itself. All figures in offers come from Raysly.

A "Get instant offer" link in your top menu is off by default. When on, it is shown without writing anything into your menu tables, so switching it off removes it at once. You can set the link text (up to 40 characters; empty means "Get instant offer" in the visitor's language). Themes without the standard top-menu hook, or with a custom menu, may show a plain link instead of a menu item, and a full-page cache can show the old state until it is cleared.

Change how the form looks

Offer widget on the Raysly screen has the look settings for the form. Each value is checked when you save it and again when the page is built.

  • Look of the form: match your theme (the default), use the look saved in your Raysly account, or the Raysly look.
  • Raysly cookie notice: on by default. Turn it off if your shop already asks visitors for cookie consent; the form then collects no consent, so Raysly analytics stay off.
  • Page layout: "bare" (the default) shows only your logo or shop name, a way back to the shop and the form on the dedicated offer page; "theme" shows the form inside your theme. Product pages and the order confirmation always keep your theme.
  • Product pages and the order confirmation always keep your theme. The bare layout applies to the dedicated offer page; link to it from a menu, a CMS block or a banner.

Send checkout leads to Raysly (optional)

Lead sharing is off by default. On the Raysly screen under Checkout leads, tick the lawful-basis confirmation and Send opted-in checkout leads. Checkout then shows an unticked box above the payment options: "Share my details with (your company) so they can contact me by email or phone about a solar offer". Until you confirm a lawful basis for sharing, nothing is sent. The leads land in your own Raysly account, and you are the data controller: Raysly processes them on your behalf, only on your instructions, under its data processing agreement.

  • What is sent: name, e-mail, phone (mobile first), address, city, postal code, country, company, language, your shop address and the order number as a reference. Only customers who ticked the box for that cart are sent.
  • What is never sent: card or payment data, order lines or totals, the customer message and the VAT number.
  • One lead per order, so reloads and retries never create a duplicate. Checkout never waits for Raysly.
  • The module sends the lead right after the response when PHP-FPM is available. Without it, at most one lead goes out per request, and waiting leads can be sent from the Raysly screen with Send waiting leads now or through the optional cron address shown there.
  • The module registers with PrestaShop's GDPR tools: erasing a customer removes their stored lead rows, and the data export includes cart, order, choice, state and the Raysly lead id.

The Sync my products to Raysly button on the Products card creates a read-only Webservice key in your shop and hands it to Raysly. Raysly reads your products (names, descriptions, prices, stock, images, brands and categories) through your shop's Webservice. Only products are shared: Raysly never reads orders or customers.

If the PrestaShop Webservice is switched off, it is switched on for this and switched off again when you disconnect or uninstall. You can delete the key at any time under Advanced Parameters → Webservice.

Check your country settings

If your shop's default country differs from the country of your Raysly account's region, the Raysly screen shows a notice with a link to the Regions page in Raysly. Offers, tariffs, VAT and the address map follow the Raysly region, not the shop country.

Disconnect or remove Raysly

  • Disconnect on the Raysly screen revokes the key in Raysly and deletes it from the shop.
  • Uninstalling the module does the same and also removes its settings, lead table and secret file.
  • Leads already sent stay in your Raysly account.
  • Multistore: the settings are global, so one PrestaShop installation has one Raysly connection.

Frequently asked questions

Why did a customer not become a lead?

Leads are only sent when sharing is on, the lawful basis is confirmed and the customer ticked the box for that cart. If any of these is missing, nothing is sent.
